Still Here, Pushing It

Still on the bandwagon, was on a semi-vacation last weekend for Dragon*Con. Did not work out enough (other than being fairly physical over the days) and ate moderately (but not really great.)

Yesterday, first full day back in Orlando, I hit the gym and did a light weights workout and what ended up being a really tough 25 minute cardio workout. Ten minutes into the workout I wanted to quit, I began thinking about how no one would know, I would just stop and head home and collapse on the bed.

But then I remembered one of those phrases I’ve been pounding into my skull, I couldn’t remember the exact phrase, but it basically says, “There comes a time, when doing something difficult, that 99% of people quit. It’s the 1% who push through it that go on to be awesome.”

That’s what I focused on. I wasn’t even halfway through and my body and mind wanted me to quit. But I pushed on and I kept up the difficulty. I was literally drenched in sweat. I had soaked through the towel I grabbed. I needed a second one before I left and headed home.

I’m going on the road again tomorrow, so for a few days I’ll be either working out in a hotel gym, or doing a workout in my room. Probably Burpees, pushups etc.

Tuesday, once I’m back in Orlando, I have an appointment with one of the trainers to help me finalize my weight routine. Looking forward to locking that down, figuring out my weights, and with my travel done for a while - laying into the workout hardcore.

From 360 lbs becoming a Warrior.

The journey has been long with many traps and falls, but we're moving again and this time I'm training for a Spartan Race.
